Graduate student, do not forget to insert the quote of thanks to CAPES in your final work

07/13/2022 - All academic works produced in the country's Graduate Programs, which have financial support from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes), as is the case of PPGBiotec, must contain the quote from the funding agency, in your acknowledgments.

This is what has been foreseen, since September 5, 2018, in CAPES Ordinance No. 206. The following expressions must be used, in the language of the work:

"This study was financed in part by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel - Brazil (CAPES) - Finance Code 001"

The funding mentioned in the ordinance involves not only receiving a Capes scholarship, but also receiving any type of support for academic activities, which have made use of funding resources, such as those from the Postgraduate Support Program. -Graduation (PROAP).

Therefore, any works produced or published (theses, dissertations, articles, among others), in any media, resulting from activities financed, in whole or in part, by CAPES, must, mandatorily, make reference to the support received.

Thus, even fellows from other agencies should write their acknowledgments with the citation, provided they have been part of a Graduate Program that has received CAPES funds for its maintenance. For more details, read Ordinance 206/2019, available at this link.
